Home and School

Who are we?

We are a group of parents, staff, and interested members of our community who are passionate about Southbridge School. Our focus is to provide fun activities that bring together the pupils and families of our school to foster the community spirit.  We are also responsible for fundraising as well as assisting the Board of Trustees, Principal and staff in successfully running our wonderful school in any way that we can.

HOME AND SCHOOL UPDATE

Welcome to 2010. The committee has come up with some good ideas for fundraising this year starting with a Quiz Night on Friday 26th March in the Southbridge Town Hall. This has always been a popular event, so start rounding up your team and watch this space for more details coming soon.

UNIFORM SHOP – the uniform shop is now open on Tuesday mornings 8.30-9.15am.

Hats – Home and School fund school hats for all students. Your child’s teacher issues named hats in terms one and four. These hats are for your child while they are at Southbridge School and must stay at school. At the end of summer and the end of the year we take all the hats home and wash them ready for the next term. If your child looses their hat there is a replacement cost of $5.00 and can be purchased through the uniform shop. There has been some confusion over replacement hats in the past, so I hope this clears it up.

New members are always welcome; our meeting dates are every third Wednesday of the month, 7.30pm in the staff room. We thank you for your continued support of our activities throughout the year.

Want to find out more?

Please feel free to come along to a meeting, we are a friendly bunch, honest!!  Our meetings are usually quite fun, and sometimes we even have fresh baking!!  Otherwise, you can contact a member of the Home and School committee, or phone the school office and leave your name and contact details – someone will contact you ASAP.  Please remember that your commitment can be as small or as large as you like – we are always looking for helpers for discos, sausage sizzles, working bees etc … this does not commit you to a lifetime of meetings !!
Remember – many hands make light work!!
